The Story Behind VivaTails

VivaTails started with a loss.

In 2024, I lost my golden retriever, Bubu.
He was with me for 12 years — through college,
through my first job, through every good and bad day
I can remember.

When he passed, I tried everything to keep him close.
Photo frames. Paw print kits. A portrait someone painted for me.
None of it felt real enough. None of it felt like him.

So I found a workshop in Hangzhou that specializes
in hand-carved relief sculpture — the same technique
used to create commemorative coins and medallions for centuries.
I asked them to carve Bubu's face from my favorite photo of him.

When I held the finished pendant for the first time, I cried.
Not because I was sad — because it actually looked like him.
His ears. His nose. That face I'd recognize anywhere.

That pendant became VivaTails.

Now I make these for other pet parents
who understand this kind of love — and this kind of loss.

Why 3D Relief — Not Laser Engraving

Most "custom pet jewelry" on the market uses laser engraving or flat photo printing — techniques that produce a thin, lifeless image on metal.

Our pendants are different. Each one is digitally sculpted in full 3D based on your photo, then cast in solid bronze or 999 pure silver. The result has real depth — you can feel every whisker, every fur texture, every expression with your fingertips.

It's the difference between a photocopy and a sculpture.

Every pendant goes through 20 handcrafted steps: from 3D digital sculpting, to precision mold-making, metal casting, hand-polishing, and patina treatment. No shortcuts. No automation. Just skilled hands and an obsession with detail.

Each piece takes 10 to 15 business days to complete — because work this personal can't be rushed.
